The Creative Services Manager serves as the leader of the Creative Services department within Delicato, supporting the graphic communication and design needs of the National Brand portfolio, Trade Marketing, International and Corporate organization. This includes elevating and preserving the unique identities and standards of each brand by staying ahead of design trends within and outside the wine industry.
Functional Responsibility
Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met

Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in cost-effective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives
Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics
Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change
Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies
Essential Duties
Responsible for building and maintaining project intake platform, including new template development, system updates, and software integration
Responsible for trafficking all creative request and projects and aligning the required resources
Responsible for reporting and tracking for creative service to ensure a balance across Brand, Trade and corporate requests and reporting back to department leads
Determines resources and needs for each project within provided budget; monitors ongoing cost benefit analysis and reports monthly on cost savings and outsourcing expenses as needed
Sources and expands library of external graphic artists, agencies and designers for DFW projects; bids out projects for design for best fit and cost savings
Develops realistic timelines; manages time and prioritizes daily workload; ensures work is completed on time and meets project objectives
Maintains, organizes, archives and backs-up a complete asset library
Oversees the activities of internal and external designers and agencies in supporting multiple brands and promotional efforts that embrace each brand’s unique market positioning
Oversees hands-on design work and delivery of materials in electronic and print forms
Develops and maintains corporate brand standards that elevate the look and feel of the design and graphic elements, identifies art styles and provides direction and suggestions for on-going projects as needed
Value engineers all designs to provide high quality output and minimize cost
Attends press checks with marketing to deliver professional level desired results
Oversees product photo shoots and provides art direction and approval as needed
Reviews all packaging briefs and finds best internal or external options
Independently drives the look and feel for new creative when working internally
Actively participates and helps drive the creative process by presenting thorough and well-developed recommendations to meet the given objectives
Oversees the reviews of color and final print proofing composition on key projects
Assists other Marketing initiatives as needed

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field
7+ years related experience working in an advertising/design studio or editorial environment
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
2+ years of wine industry experience in both luxury and popular priced segments preferred
1+ years of experience in web development preferred

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Excellent understanding of the design, offset print production and web production process
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite applications, including In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, and Acrobat
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as Flash and/or Adobe Scene7 is a plus
Extensive experience in graphic design and a love for typography is a must
Ability to balance both creative and technical challenges
Highly organized with the ability to manage numerous projects, tight turnaround times, scheduling conflicts, revisions and technical challenges effectively
Ability to work collaboratively and independently when needed
Strong sense of visual design and balance
Attention to detail regarding functionality, artwork, and spelling/grammar
Understanding of the usage and restrictions of fonts, file formats, browser compatibility, viewer interaction, and foresight of future maintenance/update requirements
Working Conditions
General office environment with occasional travel
Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $100,157.52 to $156,787.44. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
