Job Summary

The Derivatives/Structured Finance Associate is an integral part of our finance team, responsible for designing, structuring, and executing complex financial instruments. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, products, and risk management techniques. The successful candidate will demonstrate analytical excellence, innovative thinking, and a strong aptitude for problem-solving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement structured finance products, including derivatives, to meet client needs and manage financial risks.
  • Perform quantitative analysis and financial modeling to assess the viability and risk profiles of various financial structures.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored solutions that align with their strategic goals.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed of the latest trends and developments in financial markets and structured finance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external clients, explaining complex financial structures and their benefits.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all transactions meet regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from conception through execution and post-deal evaluation.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and other financial institutions involved in structured transactions.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, contributing to their development and understanding of derivatives and structured finance.
  • Maintain a strong professional network to enhance business development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (such as CFA or FRM) preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on derivatives, structured products, or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
  • Strong understanding of market risk, credit risk, and the regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex financial transactions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
