Job Summary
The Derivatives/Structured Finance Associate is an integral part of our finance team, responsible for designing, structuring, and executing complex financial instruments. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, products, and risk management techniques. The successful candidate will demonstrate analytical excellence, innovative thinking, and a strong aptitude for problem-solving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Design and implement structured finance products, including derivatives, to meet client needs and manage financial risks.
Perform quantitative analysis and financial modeling to assess the viability and risk profiles of various financial structures.
Collaborate with clients to develop tailored solutions that align with their strategic goals.
Conduct market research to stay informed of the latest trends and developments in financial markets and structured finance.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external clients, explaining complex financial structures and their benefits.
Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all transactions meet regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from conception through execution and post-deal evaluation.
Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and other financial institutions involved in structured transactions.
Provide support and guidance to junior staff, contributing to their development and understanding of derivatives and structured finance.
Maintain a strong professional network to enhance business development opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (such as CFA or FRM) preferred.
3+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on derivatives, structured products, or related fields.
Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
Strong understanding of market risk, credit risk, and the regulatory landscape.
Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and persuasively.
Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex financial transactions.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
High level of professionalism and integrity.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
