SPECIALIST, DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

We are seeking a creative communications expert to help us manage our internal digital communications tools, including keeping our intranet fresh and engaging for our employees, managing our video platform and managing metrics for our digital platforms.

We know that for employees to be able to do their best work, they need to be able to find the information they need quickly and easily — whether that’s key news about our company, business, brands and values; how to file an expense report; or what benefits are available to them.

As the Specialist, Digital Communications, you will help ensure our intranet pages are up to date, working in close partnership with our HR centers of excellence and content owners across the company. You will proactively look for ways to improve navigation and user experience, in partnership with the managing editor of the intranet.

To help us continuously improve our communications and channels, you will help create and manage dashboards for our digital channels so we better understand what’s working and what’s not and can test out new approaches to drive engagement.

The ideal candidate will be very comfortable using new technology and tools and will continually look for better, more efficient ways for the team to operate.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary intranet content manager for evergreen content across our corporate functions (including HR), advising partners on how best to communicate and structure their information, helping build and organize content as necessary and providing training for content owners.
  • Help drive best practices around intranet structure and governance, ensuring content is up to date and easy to find for employees. Maintain appropriate permissions for content owners and identify any issues arising inactive authors or pages. Update structure and navigation as needed, in partnership with our managing editor.
  • In partnership with our managing editor and IT partners, meet with our intranet vendor on an ongoing basis to help plan for upgrades and changes; help raise any technical issues with the tool and manage to resolution.
  • Keep a pulse on key data such as “failure to find” and “inactive content owners” to keep everything running smoothly. Serve as the primary liaison with content owners across the tool and proactively find replacement owners if people leave without identifying new owners. Review pages as they come up for annual renewal.
  • Manage our video platform, serving as a liaison with the vendor on any changes/upgrades, managing access for content owners and providing guidance on permissions and folder/channel structure.
  • Manage our email platform, serving as a liaison with the vendor on any tech issues and managing access for content owners.
  • Help maintain cross-functional calendars of events, emails, etc. and coordinate submissions to our weekly internal memo on past and upcoming activations.
  • Manage posting content on Atrium and elevator screens, in partnership with employee communications and design leads.
  • Explore and implement new technologies and tools to improve efficiency and audience engagement.
  • Help coordinate metrics report-outs across the Corporate Affairs team; support the metrics lead and create dashboards for our digital channels (LeviStrauss.com, our intranet, social channels and company emails) for both corporate and HR content so we can continue improving content and structure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in communications, journalism, marketing or related field.
  • Strong writing, editing and oral communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information to audiences with a broad range of knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize, move fast and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • A self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively on projects and proactively seeks out creative solutions.
  • Willingness to adopt new tools and technologies with minimal guidance.
  • Strong understanding of digital communications and how to organize content online; familiarity with UX principles and best practices.
  • Ability to pick up and learn new technologies and tools. Comfort with online publishing tools, including intranet technologies and light HTML editing.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; Smartsheet proficiency a bonus.
  • Additional preferred qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud photo/video editing software.Photography skills a plus but not required.

The expected starting salary range for this role is $77,300 to $120,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
