The Director of Communications will be leading the North American communications strategies and execution. This Communications Director will be responsible for driving and shaping the organization's global communications strategy and execution on a regional level, while adhering to the broader groups global goals and strategy. This person will work across the business units in the region, and also work with global groups as well.

Our client for the Director of Communications opportunity is a global industrial manufacturing company and is ranked in the Global Fortune 500. This organization services customers in a range of industries including, but not limited to automotive, industrial, construction, agriculture, oil and gas, energy, packaging, appliances, and more.

The Director of Communications will be leading the North American communications strategies and execution. This Communications Director will be responsible for driving and shaping the organization's global communications strategy and execution on a regional level, while adhering to the broader groups global goals and strategy. This person will work across the business units in the region, and also work with global groups as well. The Communications Director will be a hands working on tactical actions, as well as strategic working on large global initiatives. This role will have a strong government relations and sustainability focus to the role.

Description

  • Lead the North American communications strategy and execution working closely with the Executive leadership team in the region as well as global leaders to ensure alignment of global strategy within the region
  • Drive the global corporate identity driving a strong corporate global brand within the region
  • Analyze brand positioning and consumer insights across the global to shape and communicate the overall vision
  • Define and execute the internal and external communications strategies
  • Create and execute a annual communications budget
  • Oversee and execute the overall internal communications strategy pertaining to corporate initiatives, content creation, intranet, social media, etc.
  • Manage and maintain all public relations strategy and activities
  • Act as the primary spokesperson and media relations person ensuring positive relationships with journalists, industry analysts and other stakeholders
  • Manag all marketing activities and execution including but not limited to global tradeshows, messaging, sales enablement, customer presentations, marketing collateral, corporate website, etc.
  • Support and drive communications pertaining to the global sustainability goals and initiatives

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree required - Marketing, Communications, or Related
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading marketing and international communications, public relations in a global company
  • Must have experience in a business to business manufacturing
  • Must be hands on with proven ability developing brand and marketing communication strategies
  • Strong digital marketing skills
  • Strong commercial and business acumen and crisis management skills
  • Executive presence and cultural awareness
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to drive relevant and critical initiatives
  • Experience working with a global company and working with global customers/counterparts working with different cultures
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and strong presentation skills working with internal and external stakeholders including executive management (VP and C-level)
  • Ability to trave 20 - 30%

Job Offer

Competitive base salary $160,000 - $180,000, bonus, full benefits, 401K, PTO, relocation package if needed, and high growth potential working for a large diverse global company.
