Overview

We are seeking a seasoned SEM Director with extensive experience in managing paid search across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. As a Director of Paid Search, you will invent, develop, and run effective delivery strategies based on our client's business objectives, and improve the career paths of supporting staff in our wider digital community. You will develop and manage effective delivery strategies based on known clients' business objectives and carefully manage client expectations and communication throughout the engagement. You will help ensure the search product is delivered in a professional and comprehensive form with insights and recommended actions. You will also help improve processes to streamline operations, improve performance and maximize team output. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of DTC and ecommerce dynamics, a proven track record of driving results through Paid Search, and experience in optimizing product feeds through Google Merchant Center.

Responsibilities

Digital Authority

  • Act as the chief architect of the delivery strategy, testing strategy, forecast, and plan for key accounts within your category, ensuring all search deliverables are met on time and of the highest quality.
  • Develop strong relationships with the search community, vendors, and clients, becoming a trusted resource for marketplace information and as a valuable/trusted resource for strategic and tactical direction
  • Identify new and innovative digital opportunities for the client.
  • Provide insights on various technologies, partners, platforms, and marketplace opportunities.
  • Meet regularly with media sales executives and industry representatives to align with the client’s business.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork.
  • Exhibit passion through appropriate participation in team, agency, and industry initiatives.
  • Escalation Management: Internal and external point of escalation for the division
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Search strategies are in line with the brand’s strategic approach

Process Driven

  • Ensure all client financials are reconciled.
  • Adhere to the OMD digital planning process, tracking opportunities accurately.
  • Capture and reflect team members' timesheets accurately.

Motivator & Teacher

  • Supervise the development, implementation, and maintenance of media plans.
  • Facilitate team member development and educate them on processes.
  • Continually learn new technologies and share knowledge with the team.

Critical Thinker

  • Seek insights and defend thinking with data.
  • Uncover new targeting opportunities for efficient buys and better client outcomes.
  • Analyze and optimize plans based on KPIs.
  • Negotiate plans and terms, flagging any inconsistencies.

Collaborative Partner

  • Build partnerships to drive results for clients.
  • Provide support to internal OMG groups and integrate all resources effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Advertising; OR equivalent professional work experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of hands-on-keyboard experience in managing Paid Search campaigns (shopping experience preferred) across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
  • Experience working with Fortune 100 and DTC brands in a client-facing strategic experience required
  • Lead tactical execution and optimization of Search programs, and be responsible for optimizing, implementing, and analyzing marketing activities
  • Experience with Google Merchant Center, including proficiency in product feed optimization and troubleshooting
  • Experience with advanced bidding strategies and machine learning algorithms to enhance campaign performance
  • Familiar with managing a portfolio of brands, establishing swim lames and keyword prioritization
  • Experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams on designing A/B test & learn frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights
  • Prior experience managing a team is an absolute must; demonstrating the ability to provide strategic direction and leadership nurture junior members of a team and serve as a mentor, guiding them in the implementation of best practices and innovative tactics
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork.
  • Exhibit passion through appropriate participation in team, agency, and industry initiatives.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, benefits include: health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, 401(k), Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, vacation days, sick days, personal days, paid parental leave, paid medical leave, and STD/LTD insurance benefits.

Compensation Range

$170,000—$170,000 USD
