Director of Physical Security (Hybrid Work Model)

We are looking for a physical security professional to join our team as a Director of Physical Security. As a Director of Physical Security at Sentry, you will lead and direct all aspects of physical security across all Sentry-owned facilities and special event locations to ensure the safety of all Sentry associates, guests, and property.

What You'll Do

As a Director of Physical Security, you will:

  • Develop the annual strategic plan and budget for physical security to achieve short- and long-term objectives and effectively communicate those objectives to security staff and management.
  • Serve as the primary contact for security needs leading up to all Sentry events while developing and planning the security and safety needs for each event.
  • Oversee security for all office locations and conduct risk assessments of those locations, as needed.
  • Develop the Executive Protection plan for covered entities that is tailored to their needs and potential risks.
  • Administer human resource-related activities including timely performance and salary reviews; ensures all subordinates adhere to human resources policies and practices.
  • Regularly audit compliance of key security policies and assist with functional capacity of all security equipment at all locations.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with local law enforcement and security professionals.
  • Ensure safe operation of all safety systems, CCTV system computers, and the access control system. Serve as the primary source of contact with authorized personnel/contractors who are responsible for maintenance and upkeep of devices.
  • Coordinate and execute investigations related to threats to the safety of our associates and guests. Operate as the focal point for direction, investigative strategy, and communications during a security event. Support HR, Legal, and Corporate Investigations teams with their investigations as necessary.

What It Takes

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ related work experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a physical security department.
  • Proven experience with vendor relationship management.
  • Knowledge of security vendors and their solutions is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing a corporate security budget and ensuring proper allocation of funds in alignment with a strategic plan.
  • Proficient in communication at all levels of the organization ranging from creating and delivery of report outs to the Board of Directors and Executive Level Management, highlighting value proposition of the decrement as well as risks and treatment plans.
  • Experience in building an executive protection program highly preferred.
  • Ability to pass annual Fit for Duty evaluation.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain professional industry certifications (ASIS, Law Enforcement) and CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
