South Seattle College is looking to hire a Director of Worksource Career Services in the Worksource Development department.
Salary Range for this position is $70,000.00 to $94,000.00 annually, depending on experience.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Senior Executive Director of Workforce, the Director of WorkSource Career Services will be responsible for providing vision, leadership, and management for the daily operation of a WorkSource Affiliate Site and Career Development Services at South Seattle College. The Center serves as the entry point on campus for students, dislocated workers and individuals seeking information about employment and training opportunities.
The Director establishes contacts with community partners who form part of a system that provides one-stop services to job seekers, incumbent workers and employers, and is responsible for the implementation of an expanding career and job search program with services embedded in the instructional curriculum.
The Director will also provide primary project management and coordination oversight of our Corrections programs, services and grants, including connections into continued career training and pathways at South Seattle College and/or into employment opportunities utilizing the resources available at WorkSource. This position also works in close partnership with the Workforce Education Department through shared front-end services.
This position supervises up to 3 exempt staff, 1 classified staff, and 2-3 PT hourly employees.
This is an on-campus, in-person role with some options for occasional remote work.
This position is an exempt, non-represented position.

What you will be working on:
Responsible for strategic planning, program assessment, and budgeting for the Career Center
and WorkSource Affiliate Partners
Promote and manage the WorkSource Affiliate site adhering to WIOA guidelines and policies
determined by the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County.
Supervise Embedded Career Specialists, WorkSource coordinator and part-time staff including
orientation, training and evaluation.
Develop and monitor contracts with WorkSource Partners including negotiating rental and
resource sharing agreements with partners.
Lead the development, implementation, and documentation of coordinated career services
across the campus and the WorkSource system.
Direct the internship program, career services, and service-learning opportunities working
closely with instructional faculty and administration.
Participate in the development and expansion of employer services including with students
and graduates.
Provide site leadership to the WorkSource partners onsite to promote collaborative and
integrated service delivery.
Lead the strategy to promote and integrate the awareness and usage of CareerHub by
students, alumni, employers, and faculty.
Work in coordination with the Georgetown¿s Executive Dean regarding the operations of the
WorkSource Connection site.
Actively participate in committees, convene and attend meetings, both at the college and
throughout the WorkSource system
Contribute knowledge and information to funding opportunities pertaining to career services
in workforce education.
Integrate the WorkSource Career Services department into overall college strategies for
tracking placement information.
Develop and present reports and presentations on Career Service activities to a variety of
audiences, including students, employers, faculty, staff, and administration.
Represent the college at the Career and Employment Services Council.
Serves as primary project manager and coordinator for Corrections programs, services, and
grants
Maintains current understanding of locations and programs South is offering Corrections
onsite and in the community
Ensure Corrections programs are meeting contractual reporting and invoicing deadlines
Provides strategic direction on maintenance and expansion of Corrections partnerships, service
delivery, and sustainable funding opportunities
May represent Corrections for South Seattle College with participant, community, county,
state, and funding stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned
What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
Baccalaureate Degree required.
Experience in a community or technical college with demonstrated leadership success in
Career Development and Placement services.
Understanding of the WIOA system, employment and training services and centers.
Knowledge of the state and regional economies and industries, particularly as they relate to
current and potential workforce education offerings
Knowledge of career assessment tools.
Experience working with sector specific industries.
Understanding and working knowledge of Corrections best practices, programs, participants,
and services.
Experience implementing and growing multi-departmental projects.
Experience in program management.
Excellent written and oral communication and organization skills.
Excellent accountability and follow-through related to reporting to funders and meeting
deadlines.
Strong commitment to working collaboratively and fostering communication and collaboration
across multiple departments.
Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences and abilities.
