Distribution/Site Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Distribution/Site Operations Manager will oversee our Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio regional distribution center and a small manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and overall performance of the site businesses, ensuring first and foremost effective distribution, efficient operations and high-quality production. The Site Distribution/Operations Manager will lead a team of approximately 100 employees and will be instrumental in driving growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leadership and Management:

• Provide strong leadership and direction to all staff at the regional distribution center and manufacturing facility.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals and objectives.

Operational Oversight:

• Manage the regional distribution center operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics.

Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant, including production, quality control, and maintenance.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Financial Performance:

• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Drive profitability through effective resource allocation and process optimization.

Customer Focus:

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent product quality and reliable distribution services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Address and resolve customer issues and concerns promptly and effectively.

Continuous Improvement:

• Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall productivity.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating relevant innovations into operations.

Talent Development:

• Train and develop staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
• Identify and nurture future leaders within the organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution management and manufacturing with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing both functions.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven track record of distribution operational excellence and financial acumen.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and distribution logistics.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is ideal.
• Proficient in using ERP systems and other relevant software tools.
