This is an unpaid remote internship designed for college students or recent graduates working towards launching a creative career. In exchange for mentorship and school credit, depending on the institution's requirements, interns will work closely with Ying Compestine and also independently. Applicants must be located in the US.


Many college students gain valuable knowledge from their education but are not fully prepared for the challenges of self-promotion, business negotiation, and career management. This internship exposes you to all aspects of the creative world, with a business emphasis.


Hours:

Days are flexible, and hours may vary. Approximately 20 hours per week, 1-3 hours dedicated to virtual meetings 5 times a week around 12 PM to 3 PM PST. The remaining hours are dedicated to completing assigned tasks. The position lasts 12 months.


Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship for a duration of up to 12 months. College credit is available.


Responsibilities:


  • Researching, writing, editing, and drafting business emails to movie studios, editors, and agents on behalf of the author.
  • Managing the author's travel schedule.
  • Organizing publicity photos.
  • Updating the author's social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter).
  • Processing financial statements, tracking payments, and preparing invoices.
  • Supporting manuscripts in various stages of development
  • Staying current with publishing trends, industry changes, and entertainment.

Requirements:


  • Applicants must be in college or recent graduates. Juniors and Seniors are preferred.
  • Applicants must be located in the US.
  • Mastery of Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with Adobe Products such as Photoshop, Premiere, or other similar apps
  • Proficient with Canva or other graphic design products
  • Proficient with various social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter) and mobile technology (smartphone, tablet).
  • Excellent memory and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Top-notch organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Adaptive and flexible personality with the ability to adjust with a can-do attitude.
  • Must be self-directed and independent in a busy environment.
  • Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, ensuring their daily responsibilities are executed with accuracy and minimal mistakes.
