Energy & Chemical Industry Consulting-Analyst/Senior Analyst (Houston)

Are you a chemical engineer with 0-5 years' experience in energy and/or chemical sectors, working in consulting, engineering or commercial roles looking for an opportunity within a consulting team based in our Houston?

We are looking for an Analyst/Senior Analyst to work across NexantECA, the Energy and Chemicals Advisory company, with involvement in both single client projects and our subscriptions and reports program. The work will cover technology, economics, and market analysis within a broad range of energy and chemical-related industries; from hydrocarbon fuels and feedstocks, petrochemicals and polymers, to C1 chemicals, bio-renewables, and special topics.

As an Analyst/Senior Analyst you will;

  • Participate in the delivery of subscription reports and consultancy engagements and to exceed client's expectations, through research, analysis and report writing
  • Conduct primary research to understand key industry issues and develop market balances and projections
  • Manage research and analysis of industry data through the use of spreadsheets
  • Conduct research on process technology trends and develop economic models of capital and operating costs of industrial plants
  • Meet internal quality, time and budget constraints
  • Work closely with clients, prepare and deliver presentations, and assist in building strong client relationships
  • Develop and broaden personal knowledge and capabilities
  • Assist and support team members in all aspects of engagement delivery

Requirements

Education & Qualifications;

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science


Skills & Experience;

  • 0-5 years' previous industry analysis/consulting, research or process industry experience
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft spread sheets, word processing and presentation applications
  • Proficient in the use of databases
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Positive and flexible attitude to work particularly new initiatives
  • Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness
