To manage and control all financial responsibilities and information systems for the company. Design, develop, supervise and maintain systems and processes for financial control including monthly financial statements, cash management, capital projects, fixed assets, inventories, leases, and acquisitions to promote the company’s image, continued growth and profitability. Coordinate outside independent audit of year-end financial statements and tax returns. Negotiate terms with vendors. Must have experience in a manufacturing environment.
Education And Experience
Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Master’s degree preferred.
At least 7 years of accounting and operational management experience
At least 2 to 3 years of public accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred.

Responsibilities
The Controller has the responsibility and commensurate authority to accomplish the following duties:
Maintain and monitor Company’s general ledger and other financial records including preparation and communication of Company’s monthly financial reports to the Plant General Manager and other senior management. Monitor daily processing of billing, receivables, payables, purchasing, shipping, and inventory control. Maintain banking relationships and coordinate requirements with tax, accounting and legal counsel.
Prepare annual operating budget and analyze production and budget variances on a monthly basis. Prepare reconciliations, research discrepancies and advise the Plant General Manager accordingly. Build and maintain labor and overhead rates to be used in costing models and strategic planning, and monthly financial reports.
Generate special reports as required by the Plant General Manager. Negotiate terms with vendors. Handle special assignments and projects while handling regular duties to meet deadlines. Develop feasibility analysis of new businesses and/or investment in existing businesses and make recommendations on capitalization assignments including major construction and equipment acquisitions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage and supervise accounting personnel and their respective functions (e.g. accounts payable, payroll, receivables, accounting software, credit approval, billing, bank reconciliation and other administrative duties).
Duties include hiring, training and evaluating personnel.
Provide operational support for accounting system (SAP knowledge preferred) and analyze and make recommendations on utilization of computer system to meet changing requirements and improve effectiveness.
Supervise the preparation and filing of all federal and state tax returns and perform operational auditing and statistical auditing functions to verify and maintain controls.
Supervise and control the storage and handling of necessary records, documentation, and files.
Advise the Plant General Manager in all assigned areas of expertise and execute all assigned special projects and other related duties.
Maintain functional relationships with Sales, Production, Repair, and Quality Assurance to coordinate customer service and maintain an orderly flow of business.
