Fire Alarm Installer (Entry-Mid Level)

Reports to : Lead installer/Lead Technician (Based on tasks)

Hours : 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Type : Full-time

Responsibilities

• Responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining fire alarm systems in new constructon and retro-fit applications in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
• Assist the lead/senior installer with system wiring, device and panel installations and other daily job functions
• Assist lead/senior technician with service calls repairs. Report findings to senior technicians and clients when directed
• Attend and participate in FDNY inspections of fire sprinkler and alarm systems at clients properties
• Initiate and complete projects independently according to assigned tasks
• Work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
  
  

Specific Responsibilities

• Support Lead Installers/Senior Installers & Technicians with job preparation (both offsite and onsite), including maintaining stock levels, loading trucks, assisting with paperwork and other needs
• Responsible for installing life safety systems and related components in commercial/residential environments as directed by Lead Installers or Lead Technicians
• Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment and take corrective action
• Carry, climb and maneuver on ladders; work with hands and power tools; in attics/crawl spaces
• Responsibly use all site specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
• Prioritize and complete assigned work orders accurately and daily in Field Service Manager

• Communicate with staff, client representatives, cooperative trades and subcontractors in a professional, courteous manner
• Maintain a positive, professional and courteous image; while managing interpersonal skills
• Ensure the work environment is always kept clean, and the area you work in is always protected
