We are currently looking for an FMVSS Test Technician to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The individual in this position will work directly with engineers to install and support the testing of prototype/preproduction systems related to research and development efforts at Nissan Technical Center N.A.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Set up test stands and fixtures and conduct FMVSS 207, 210, 214, 216, and 225 testing.
  • Communicate with the lead tech, Supervisor, or directly with the engineering team to execute testing per regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Instrumentation of test components, load cells, LVDT's, etc.
  • Removal and replacement of prototype vehicle components as required to conduct testing
  • Support other testing groups as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in automotive or technology-related field preferred, Min 3-5 years related testing experience accepted.
  • Automotive mechanical skills, and automotive testing experience required.
  • Basic vehicle knowledge and component testing experience required.
  • Experience with servo-hydraulic systems, load cells, LVDT's, and regulatory testing preferred.
  • Experience with data acquisition, machine shop, welding, and fabrication- a plus
  • Excellent critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks as required.
