Fundraising Manager

SLANG Global is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cross-cultural understanding, social entrepreneurship, and language education between West Africa and Latin America. We are seeking a self-motivated and passionate individual to serve as our Fundraising Manager. This person will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and programs.

SLANG Global's HQ is in Enugu, Nigeria however, we have staff and volunteers that are international. This is a remote position where in time a trip to Nigeria at least once a year to start will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a fundraising plan to meet SLANG Global's annual revenue goals
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners
• Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives
• Prepare grant proposals and manage the grant application process
• Create and maintain donor and sponsor databases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of donor communication
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to create compelling fundraising materials, including proposals, brochures, and marketing materials
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical fundraising practices
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives and adjust strategies as necessary
• Report regularly to the Board of Directors on fundraising progress and opportunities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, or related field
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills
• Proven track record of success in developing and executing fundraising strategies
• Experience in event planning and management
• Knowledge of grant application and management processes
• Proficiency in donor database management software and other software: Google Works, Microsoft Office, Slack, Notion, Whatsapp, Wave Financial, Zoom, Hubspot
• Passion for SLANG Global's mission and values
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a creative environment
• Cross-cultural awareness and understanding

This is a remote contract/volunteer position, and the Fundraising Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors, Founder, Advisory Council, and other volunteers to advance the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating positive social change and have a passion for fundraising and donor stewardship.
