Geospatial Data and Multimedia Analyst

Position Overview: The Geospatial Data and Multimedia Analyst supports the MGIS Unit in conducting research and integrating geospatial and tabular data related to economic development using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualization platforms. This role also includes supporting the multimedia needs of the corporation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Produce static maps, support web-based mapping, manage spatial/non-spatial databases, and provide technical support to GIS staff.
• Research, assess, integrate, manipulate, exploit, extract, and analyze digital data.
• Integrate economic development data with GIS and guide team members.
• Analyze, evaluate, reformat, and convert geospatial data.
• Assist in GIS project planning: develop project scope, organize tasks, estimate resources, and manage schedules.
• Participate in project deliverables production.
• Develop and support client maintenance and relationship-building activities.
• Customize product generation and analyze customer information.
• Support project management teams across departments with internal and external projects.
• Stay updated on geographic information trends and technologies.
• Capture and edit multimedia content for EDC events and projects.
• Maintain multimedia production equipment.
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Urban Planning, Urban Policy, Geoinformatics, Geography, Geology, Geographic Information Systems Science (GISc), Urban Design, Data Science, Architecture, and Computer Science.
• At least one year of working experience in related fields (paid internships count as work experience).
• Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with ESRI products, including desktop professional products (ArcPro) and Portal.
• Ability to use coding languages such as Python or R for data processing and analysis tasks.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
• New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire.
  
  

Salary Range

$63,000—$65,000 USD
