Job Summary: Epirus is seeking an individual with Congressional appropriations and Department of Defense experience to join their Government Affairs team. You will have a key role in implementing Epirus’ government affairs strategy across Congress and the executive branch from the Pentagon to Federal Civilian agencies, in support of Epirus’ diverse business objectives and rapidly expanding U.S. footprint. Working at the intersection of Government Affairs, Strategy, and Business Development, a jack-of-all-trades, team-player mentality is critical in this role. This is a unique opportunity to drive U.S. national security mission objectives at an unparalleled pace. This role will report to the VP of Government Relations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the meetings and briefings of the director and vice president with key decision-makers who impact U.S. policy, regulations, and funding in support of company objectives.
  • Assist the Government Affairs team’s strategy to engage Congress and the State Department with aims to facilitate regulatory and legislative action in support of the company’s strategy, including
  • Collaborate in developing federal appropriation and authorization and business development strategies through research and analysis, external engagement, and cross-company coordination
  • Represent the company at conferences, think tanks and other organizations to elevate the familiarity of the company and its products.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 + years of experience working with the legislative and appropriations process. Experience writing legislation as a committee professional staff is preferred, but related experience in a personal office will also be considered.
  • Drive to strengthen US National Security.
  • Experience with Congressional process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. A writing sample may be required.
  • Team player with an ability to work across teams and an all-hands-on-deck willingness to support diverse company efforts. Organized, and comfortable working in a rapid and fluid environment.
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational and administrative skills
  • A record of working hard, solving complex problems, building trust laterally and up and down leadership chains, and embracing a culture of respect and collaboration

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Familiarity with the Congressional calendar and budget cycle
  • History of devising and driving a strategy with a team.
  • Experience and/or adaptability working with external consultants
  • Past lobbying experience welcome
  • Existing security clearance – future one may be required.

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
