Graphic Designer

The Los Angeles Sparks are looking for a Graphic Designer to join the team! The Graphic Designer will champion the LA Sparks brand and serve as a steward ensuring brand guidelines are implemented and followed, providing creative deliverables across the franchise. This position reports to the VP of Marketing & Communications and oversees Graphic Design consultants and part time graphic designer.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Serve as creative lead for the LA Sparks franchise under the direction of the VP of Marketing & Communications on ensuring brand identity and guidelines are met
• Work in collaboration with Social Media team to ensure consistent and appealing visual language is applied to all social media channels
• When required, develop original concepts that align with existing brand guidelines but serve the purpose of the required initiatives (ie All Star Game voting)
• Work in collaboration with Game Entertainment and arena team on development of graphics and creative themes ensuring all creative follows brand guidelines
• Manage all creative requests for the LA Sparks organization, ensuring their timely delivery and that business objectives are being met
• Build and develop all team assets across all platforms including digital and print deliverables
• Drive and manage the development of the Sparks visual brand and season-long campaigns, work with agencies as assigned
• Provide creative input, ideas and designs to support the overall marketing, brand development, and business objectives of the organization
• Concept creative ideas within the campaign for special promotions/holidays
• Manage part time and consultant designers, providing oversight and final creative approvals.
• Consistently meet time limits and deliver quality results
• Work LA Sparks home (onsite/remote) and away games (remote)
• Ensure brand consistency across all LA Sparks Platforms

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in digital design
• At least 5-8+ years’ experience in design field
• Experience in professional sports preferred
• Be able to make decisions in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work and collaborate across multiple departments
• Ability to work various shifts including LA Sparks games, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Experience with Animation and Web Design a plus
• Must have thorough knowledge of graphics-related Macintosh software including Adobe Creative Cloud programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat. Motion graphics, video editing, and/or 3D graphic experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must be willing to relocate to Los Angeles, California
