Job Summary:

Hutton is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee and manage its industrial division of projects. The successful candidate will be a strong project planner and an economic thinker, with the ability to effectively hold the team accountable to Hutton’s performance standards.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an effective process to optimize the life cycle of industrial projects including pre-planning, scheduling, production, safety, and quality.
  • Partner with manpower scheduler on both short and long-term labor needs to optimize the utilization and development of team.
  • Work closely with project management in the pursuit of work to understand all labor skill and resource needs.
  • Drive safety culture through partnering closely with safety director to establish proactive means and methods of mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Uphold Hutton’s safety and quality standards through consistent jobsite inspections.
  • Manage and develop superintendents, foreman, and field employees. Set clear expectations of team and hold all accountable to Hutton’s performance standards.
  • Partner closely with People Operations to manage the team’s compensation and development. Oversee training strategies to strengthen skills and close gaps.
  • Assess upcoming self-perform and field management requirements and actively participate in the recruitment process, which includes interviewing, attending career fairs, facilitating onboarding, and providing mentorship.
  • Partner with Shop Manager to evaluate equipment utilization and make recommendations to improve. Ensure team members are properly trained on all equipment. Make recommendations for new equipment as business needs require.


Job Requirements:

  • 10+ Years construction experience with at least three years in a leadership position.
  • Ability to do the following consistently without assistance:
  1. Lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  2. Walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb and squat in cramped or awkward positions when necessary.
  3. Walk on uneven surfaces frequently.
  • Possess unrestricted valid Driver’s License
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, UA, and physical.
  • Ability to work consistently in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in a project management software, such as: Asta or Microsoft Project
