An Internal Consultant must possess excellent interpersonal skills, as the job requires constant interaction with co-workers and registered representatives over the phone. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the financial services industry and the processes that exist to properly provide client solutions. Additionally, the he or she must demonstrate a high level of proactive daily activity. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and team player.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partners with Regional Consultant to manage territory to attain both sales and revenue goals.
  • Conducts consultative, relationship-building sales calls with Financial Advisors.
  • Develops and executes sales plan strategies
  • Articulates investment solution strategies and discusses financial markets (domestic and international).
  • Identifies sales opportunities and advisor needs, advances relationships, and introduces new concepts.
  • Analyzes regional/product sales trends within partner firms and among individual financial advisors.
  • Works with various departments/individuals within the organization to provide exceptional service to our Financial Advisors.
  • Handles daily territory management tasks to ensure maximum business efficiency (e.g., updates and maintains CRM, provides supplemental scheduling, etc.).
  • Ensures compliance with industry and legal regulations and best practices, and adherence to company processes and procedures.

Critical Success Factors

  • Demonstrates conviction in Meeder Investment Management solutions and investment approach, along with a passion for the investment industry.
  • Strong, proven background in business development working with financial products and services and the ability to become a subject matter expert in all Meeder Investment Management product and service offerings.
  • Ability to effectively work with External Consultants in a partnership/supportive role through the sales cycle.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and phone skills.
  • Proven client focused consultative sales approach, including ability to listen to clients/prospects needs and help identify and provide solutions.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding predetermined key objectives
  • Strong virtual presence and ability to communicate complex information and material effectively via virtual medium.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to manage your day, and the discipline to meet the goals that are expected of you.

Position Requirements

Technical Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-4 Years Financial Services Industry preferred
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 & 63 preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
