As the Director of International Sales, you must be knowledgeable of international variances in cultural and legal issues pertaining to sales. Your job responsibilities and undertakings require you to travel outside the country and report to the office once a month, for 5 days. You will be expected to find new business and sales opportunities and with the intention of seeing clients in person as needed.
This newly created position will report to the Vice President of Global Sales and provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Strategy and Sales Initiatives
Plan strategically in order to budget and forecast by country, by customer and by product for each quarter and annually
Develop various innovative marketing strategies to increase sales for all product launches
Manage and track all sales initiatives for existing and new product lines in your assigned countries
Meet all timelines for product launches and ongoing sales initiatives, in partnership with Marketing
Management
Maintain GAT Sport’s sales policies and objectives, communicating with and educating others throughout the organization
Manage the budgets developed for sales initiatives internationally
Manage existing accounts and increase sales of your assigned accounts
Manage international distributors and brokers
Develop and maintain efficient and professional relationships with all international accounts/customers
Research and Recommendations
Research competitive sales strategies and recommend action plans to enter new market channels and countries only in your territory (no overlapping)
Monitor and recommend improvement to new sales plans and marketing opportunities to achieve all key business objectives for GAT Sport’s products
Provide and recommend various company pricing policies
Research and validate potential customers business plan
Compliance and Reports
Achieve compliance with international registration and regulations for existing and targeted products, working closely with Quality Assurance
Provide sales reports to VP of Global Sales, Finance, Marketing and other departments, as necessary.
Requisite Skills and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in business management or business administration
Five years of experience in International Sales
5 years experience in the Nutritional Supplement industry
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet for research, forecasting and strategic planning
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to establish effective relationships with brokers, distributors, and GAT Sport’s leadership and staff
Ability to conduct training sessions and make professional presentations to internal and external audiences
Proven initiative to recommend and implement improvements
Knowing other languages, specially of the target market locations would be considered an asset
Working conditions
Will require 25% business travel, both local and national via own automobile or commercial carrier
NOTE: Each Country managed will be required to be visited as needed (likely once per quarter).
