Organisational Development Lead

The Scottish Ambulance Service is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Organisational Development (OD) practitioner with creative flair, who is passionate about developing others and driven to make a difference at work.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team of OD Leads across Scotland with expertise to design and deliver organisation-wide development programmes and OD initiatives that develop our organisational culture, build our leadership capacity and capability, progress talent management & development initiatives, improve our staff experience to support the delivery of corporate priorities. This specific post will be based in the central belt of Scotland (hybrid working) with a particular focus on further enhancing our staff’s career development in the Scottish Ambulance Service, so we are looking for someone with expertise in this area.

This is a role for someone who dares to be bold, challenge the status quo and is courageous in trying out new ways of doing things. The applicant will be a skilled communicator, able to lead and influence others, be a strong team player with a track record in enabling organisational change. Demonstrating our values and treating others with kindness and compassion are central to the success of this team.

The team operates in a complex and unpredictable environment that requires a high level of personal resilience and ability to be flexible and adaptable to organisational requirements. The OD Lead role has the potential to be highly rewarding, developing and supporting individuals, leaders and teams who are passionate about providing the highest quality care to patients in Scotland.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.
