EVPRI Program Manager Postdoc Services and Trainee Grants

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join an NIEHS R01 funded project investigating the role dysregulation of miRNA expression plays in arsenic-induced skin carcinogenesis using in vitro models. Primary responsibilities will be to conduct studies of effects of overexpression of selected miRNAs on mRNA and protein expression during the transformation of human keratinocytes by chronic arsenic exposure. State of the art next generation sequencing, proteomic and bioinformatics approaches will be major tools utilized in these studies. The laboratory is associated with the Center for Integrative Environmental Health Sciences, a NIEHS P30 funded Core Center headquartered in the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The Center provides access to research facility cores for next generation sequencing, proteomics, metabolomics, metallomics and bioinformatics. The successful applicant will have training opportunities in all these areas as needed for the project. Opportunity for appointment to a NIEHS T32 training grant is available for qualified individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong educational foundation and/or hands-on experience in cell culture and molecular biology including gene and protein expression analyses.

Experience in metal toxicology is desirable.

Demonstrated excellence in research publication.

Effective team player and ability to work independently.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. degree in a biomedical science (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, toxicology, etc) earned within past three years is essential. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for the successful candidate.
