Product Analyst

The Product Analyst at Silverchair is team-oriented, collaborative, and focused on delivering stakeholder value. You will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our products, working closely with the Product and Platform teams to ensure our products meet market demands and exceed customer expectations. Your insights and analysis will support product decisions and help shape the future of our offerings. In coordination with the platform Program Director and Product team members, you will gather and define requirements to deliver valuable software applications that meet stakeholder needs. The Product Analyst reports to the Lead Build Business Analyst.


Essential Functions:

  • Gather and analyze functional requirements to create a shared understanding with internal stakeholders and provide operational support to Product leaders
  • Collaborate with Program Director, Product Manager(s), the Product and Platform teams, and other stakeholders to decompose large epic stories into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team
  • Effectively write user stories and acceptance criteria to express requirements to the development team
  • Work with the Product and Platform teams throughout the product development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure requirements are clearly understood
  • Collaborate with the Product and Platform teams to meet project and/or product development objectives and deadlines
  • Create internal user guides with technical information for internal teams about how to use tools, how to troubleshoot, etc., and provide support and training as appropriate
  • Understand project scope and escalate to the Program Director when changes are identified
  • Create and update product user guides, maintain the client feature library and ensure it fully reflects available features
  • Keep sales documentation up to date and in line with existing functionality
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape
  • Conduct user experience research, including surveys, usability testing, and user interviews, to gather feedback and improve product usability
  • Provide support to the Program Director with backlog prioritization, feature sequencing and organization, user acceptance testing, and other tasks, as needed
  • Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools and technologies to enhance workflow efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and/or derive actionable insights


Required Skills:

  • Qualified Candidates will have demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders while thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Successful candidates will bring impeccable organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with an eye to detail.
  • The Product Analyst must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
  • Successful candidates will bring an in-depth understanding of market research techniques and product development processes and the ability to achieve results while learning and adapting quickly in a dynamic, high-performance work culture.
  • The Product Analyst demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, careful analysis, and a rigorous commitment to high-quality results.


Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years' experience in similar role; experience in the scholarly publishing industry a plus
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Proficiency with XML and SQL
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar product management and documentation tools
