Production Supervisor

The Oregon Fruit Company is a fast-paced, growth-oriented fruit processing company based in Salem, Oregon. Founded in 1935, the company acts like an 88-year-old startup, with an emphasis on new product innovation and disruptive communication to drive rapid growth in the foodservice and manufacturing ingredients channels. Summary  

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes within Oregon Fruit’s facility. The Production Supervisor will supervise and guide production workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to schedule.  

 

Duties 

  1. Assess crewing needs and address crewing and staffing gaps. 
  2. Provide leadership by developing people and teams, leveraging effective coaching and recognition. 
  3. Ensure the team has all the assets and resources needed to execute the schedule – escalate support needed to management team. 
  4. Execute the shift production plan by leveraging a Continuous Improvement mindset and approach. 
  5. Lead and partner with project managers on projects at the shift level. 


Job Duties  

  • Conduct investigations and implement preventative actions to mitigate incidents – leverage a continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Develop individuals and teams: 
  • 1:1 coaching, discipline, timecard approval. 
  • Foster a growth mindset with career development as a focal point. 
  • Leverage recognition to incentive performance. 
  • Provide a shift report and highlight significant gaps to schedules – include actions taken and support needed. 
  • Collaborate with HR to address crewing and staffing needs on your shift 
  • Show a strong commitment to achieving individual and team goals, including good organizational and administration skills to self-manage and develop discipline and be flexible and coachable. 
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.  
  • Proactive self-starter, with the ability to structure own schedule and meet deadlines.  
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.  
  • Model Oregon Fruit Products’ Values, Purpose and Vision.

Education & Experience 

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered. 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (preferred but not required) 

  • CPR 
  • First-Aid 
  • Bloodborne pathogens 
  • Forklift 

 

Travel Requirement 

Minimal travel required 

 

Language Skills  

Fluent in English is preferred.  Fluent in Spanish is preferred but not required. 

 

Mathematical Skills 

Basic math skills required 

 

Computer Skills 

Must have experience using a computer with demonstrated efficiency.
