Boyd Jones is seeking a Project Engineer who is a proactive, independent worker capable of precise and accurate work. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in all aspects of the day-to-day management, supervision and coordination of a construction project.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Interpret and apply architectural drawings and specifications to ensure project integrity.
Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders, ASIs, addendums, etc., ensuring timely responses and updates.
Conducts material takeoffs and utilizes Total Station equipment for survey control and layout.
Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in maintaining and updating construction schedules.
Perform regular and frequent job site visits to monitor progress and enforce safety protocols.
Compile and organize O&M manuals.
Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and address hazards immediately.
Execute additional duties as required to support project goals.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and implement solutions.
Strong written and oral communication skills for effective client and stakeholder relations.
Organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and CPM scheduling software.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Education & Experience:*
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required.
At least 1 year of experience in the Construction Industry.
