Project Manager - Defense Logistics Agency

Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional
Project Manager for an exciting opportunity to support the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) supply chain management efforts.

The Project Manager will oversee and manage the operational aspects of project(s) and serve as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. Assesses issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develop mechanisms for monitoring progress for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers as well as clients. The Project Manager will work with a highly skilled team providing critical logistical support and data analysis expertise to the ICBM Systems Directorate, United States Air Force.



Additional Responsibilities Include

• Accountable to Program Manager for tasking objectives and schedule
• Serves as a focal point for all assigned projects
• Works with assigned customer sites and DLA representatives to develop materiel and logistics sustainment requirements for assigned project workload and integrates required actions to develop recommended Weapons Systems logistics support plans
• Assists in the development of statistically driven indicators that provide model-based ways to predict supplier health, viability, and availability concerns
• Monitors DLA impact on fleet-wide weapon system readiness and analyzes provisioning related degrades to identify problems and solutions to restore acceptable levels of support
• Develops strategies to support, achieve, and exceed customer initiatives in the areas of materiel planning, pre-award and post-award contracting, quality assurance, and/or technical operations
• Develops (and advocate for) solutions to parts availability issues impacting the aging weapon system
• Acts as liaison between US Government personnel (MMIII Systems Directorate, Supply Chain Management, Defense Logistics Agency) and BAE Systems Inc. personnel
• Utilizes DLA, Department of Defense, Air Force, Commercial, data systems to provide customers and ISC insightful supply related analysis, issue/risk identification, and mitigation strategy development
• Provides logistics support analysis critical to the development of supplier assurance model/system
• Participates in working groups, review meetings, and executive forums to support analysis and decision making
• Reviews and analyzes materiel stock levels/inventory and supporting special projects
• Determines materiel procurement actions and screens for availability through authorized sources of supply
• Become proficient in and Integrate the Ark.Ai vendor and supply data/analysis system provided by BAE Systems and its subcontractor, Govini
• Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions
• Develops advanced concepts, techniques and standards. Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories
• Review, monitor, and triage supplier issues
• Serves as an advisor to senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations
• Identifies potential risks to the program and recommends actions to address unresolved risks
  
  
  

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years of professional experience
• Experience in supply management and logistical support functions such as supply, procurement, transportation, cataloging, provisioning, storage, and distribution
• Proficiency in DLA, DoD, Air Force, and ISC supply related data and analysis systems (i.e., Integrated Logistics System-Supply (ILS-S), Haystack, BLADE, FEDMALL etc.)
• Experience with databases and ability to extract data detailing customer behavior and group performance relative to the behavior, and to analyze supply detractors
• Broad understanding of the levels of repair philosophies for the military services and of how the philosophies impact materiel support
• Understanding of the processes of the Military Service which the assigned WS Group supplies, and broad knowledge of inventory policy, procedure, automated systems and decision routines
  
  
  

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft productivity suites (i.e., MS Word, EXCEL, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Teams, etc.)
• Experience with integrated logistics support concepts, policies and procedures including maintenance, materiel support, support equipment, and other integrated elements
• Experience applying established criteria to assess/monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of current processes and to identify areas for potential improvements
• Proactive, self-starter with a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong demonstrated leadership and communications skills
• Possess a willingness to learn while also sharing your current knowledge/skills
• Highly organized with acute attention to detail
• 7 years of Project Management experience
• 3 years of experience working for DLA
• MMIII maintenance or logistics experience
• Ability to analyze and interpret data
• Understanding of supplier conditions, health and viability
• Understanding of supplier Indicators, analytics and analysis
• Understanding of risk management and risk mitigation strategies
  
  
  

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92520 - $157320

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
