Position Description:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented PV System CAD Designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD) with a focus on solar PV systems. As a PV System CAD Designer, you will play a key role in translating design concepts into precise technical drawings and models that support the planning, engineering, and construction of solar energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design: Creating detailed plans for the layout of solar panels, including considerations for optimal sun exposure, spacing between panels, and site-specific factors like terrain and shading.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate PV system designs with overall project requirements, building plans, and construction schedules.
• Generate material takeoffs and bill of materials (BOM) based on CAD drawings, specifying quantities, dimensions, and specifications of materials required for construction and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in PV system design, including electrical codes, structural standards, and safety regulations.
• Perform quality checks and reviews of CAD drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards and project specifications.
• Support interdisciplinary coordination and communication by providing technical assistance, resolving design conflicts, and facilitating design changes as needed.
• Stay updated on advancements in CAD software, design methodologies, and industry trends related to solar PV systems, and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Strong desire to understand solar energy principles, PV system components, and design considerations.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Proven experience in computer-aided design (CAD), preferably in the field of solar PV system design.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings and models.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with electrical and structural engineering principles is a plus.
• Commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.
