Your role
Are you naturally curious and have a knack for extracting insights from data? As a Quantitative Trader, you will use your analytical skills to optimize our top-tier US Cash Equities Electronic Trading platform. You will collaborate with the quant team to design trading models and explore ML/AI approaches to enhance our Retail Market Making and Central Risk Book businesses.

  • Contribute ideas to improve our current and future RMM trading system, with a focus on enhancing the broader Central Risk Book business.
  • Develop trading models using software packages such as python, KDB, and R and implement live code in Java/C++.
  • Regularly measure, monitor, and improve the P&L performance of our live trading system.

Your team
Join our US Electronic Principal Quant Trading team, based in New York, and collaborate with a diverse group of experts in cash equities. Our team of quant traders design models, develop strategies, and analyze data to continuously improve our trading offerings, while working closely with our team of quant developers, and traders.

Your expertise

  • minimum of a Master's degree in Natural Science, Mathematics, Data or Process Design, or a related field.
  • at least 5 years of industry experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in financial services.
  • experience in equities or a similarly electronic asset class, such as Spot FX.
  • knowledge of machine learning methods is a plus.
  • proficient in R or Python, with a working knowledge of Java and C++.
  • familiarity with Q/Python for data analysis is preferred.
  • previous experience in Big Data, Distributed Computing, or Cloud Computing is a bonus.
  • attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment, while also being able to work independently.
  • ability to tackle complex challenges with a high level of analytical skills, a strong quality focus, and an interdisciplinary approach.

Salary Information
CA, CO, WA and NY based roles: The salary range for this role is $193,750 to $231,250 based on experience, education, and skill level. This role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. For benefits information: ubs.com/usbenefits.
