Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Reporter. The Reporter will be responsible for conducting research, gathering information, conducting interviews, and writing news articles. The role also involves creating multimedia content and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.


Responsibilities:

  • Research and Reporting: Conduct thorough research on assigned topics, gathering credible sources and data to support factual reporting. Produce well-written, accurate news articles, features, and investigative pieces aligned with GW-CincoStudio's editorial standards.
  • Interviewing: Arrange and conduct interviews with key stakeholders, experts, and sources to obtain firsthand information and quotes for stories. Maintain professionalism and uphold ethical standards during all interactions.
  • Content Creation: Generate compelling story ideas and pitches that resonate with our audience. Collaborate with editors and fellow reporters to refine content ideas and ensure alignment with editorial objectives.
  • Deadline Management: Adhere to strict deadlines for content submission, demonstrating strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Editing and Fact-Checking: Review and edit own work as well as that of colleagues to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to GW-CincoStudio's editorial guidelines. Conduct thorough fact-checking to uphold journalistic integrity.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Stay informed about current events and industry trends, continuously adapting reporting techniques and storytelling formats to engage a diverse audience effectively.


Qualifications

  • Strong reporting, writing, and news writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Experience in multimedia content creation
  • Knowledge of current events and news trends
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • Experience in a news organization or similar role is a plus


Salary:

  • Salary Range:* $70,000 - $117,000 per annum.
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-time position with flexibility in working hours.
  • Must be available for occasional evening and weekend assignments, depending on news events.
