THE POSITION

Washington County is now seeking an experienced Risk Management professional to join our team as a Risk Management Analyst II!

The Opportunity

This position organizes, coordinates, and administers County risk assessment and loss control programs, including providing professional and technical support to County departments on safety, loss control issues, ergonomic evaluations, risk, liability, policy development, and strategic planning. The individual in this position will conduct inspections and trainings to maintain compliance with loss control and safety regulations of various state and federal agencies, and serves as a consultative resource on loss control, occupational safety and health, risk, and insurance issues for Washington County.

This position has a flexible/hybrid schedule, with one regular in-office day per week and additional onsite days at various County locations as determined by business needs.

Duties Of This Position Include

  • Collaborating within the Risk Management team and with all County Departments to identify opportunities to mitigate and reduce risk throughout Washington County.
  • Leading safety committee meetings for our internal business partners to ensure federal and state requirements are met.
  • Conducting ergonomic assessments and providing recommendations of potential modifications to employees of the County.
  • Designing, implementing, and utilizing County software for reporting and record keeping activities.
  • Running and providing reports for internal business partners.
  • Developing, implementing, and updating County safety initiatives.
  • Conducting driving record checks and providing consultation and support to internal stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in risk management, occupational safety and health, business administration, a social science or a related field and three (3) years of professional-level experience in loss prevention, safety program development, claims management, occupational safety and health or risk management; OR
  • Associate Degree with coursework in risk management, occupational safety and health, business administration, asocial science or a related field and five (5) years of professional-level experience in loss prevention, safety program development, claims management, occupational safety and health or risk management; OR
  • Seven (7) years of professional-level experience in loss prevention, safety program development, claims management, occupational safety and health or risk management

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
  • A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential is preferred.
  • An Associate in Risk Management (ARM) is preferred.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Selection Process

  • MQ Review: HR will screen applications for minimum qualifications after the posting closes.
  • SME Review: Applications for candidates that meet minimum qualifications will be forwarded to a panel of subject matter experts (SME) who will review and score your application This process may take up to 2 weeks.
  • Panel Interview(s): Our goal is to schedule panel interviews with candidates that meet the minimum qualifications and pass the SME review as soon as possible.
  • Salary Analysis & Conditional Offer: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the successful candidate(s)and extend an offer of appointment conditional on successful completion of background and reference checks.
  • Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
