Position: SAP MM Functional Consultant

Location: Onsite 2-3 days a week (Northfield IL 60060)

Duration: 2 years

  • This resource will be replacing someone that has been on the project a long time from SAP.
    • The decided they do want a resource locally, the person that's being replaced is in Canada and they want to be able to work directly with a new team member.
  • Role is 75% functional and 25% technical.
  • Wants someone that has a former development background (would be ideal).
  • During interview process, they want someone that actually comments on the plans they're sharing, even challenge them on why they're going in the direction they are.
    • If someone simply acts they've done this previously, they feel that every environment is different so an implementation will always have different pain points.
  • Need to be able to travel to Mexico at least 2-4 times over the course of the next 18-24m.
Updated Job Description

  • Proficiency in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) protocols and processes, including the ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot EDI interfaces.
  • Strong experience in working with SAP ECC (Enterprise Central Component) or SAP S4 (SAP S/4HANA) systems, with a focus on ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system interfaces, particularly for purchasing transactions. Must have experience, P2P, stock transfers, and subcontracting, all within MM.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing interfaces between SAP systems and other ERP systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and transaction processing.
  • Previous experience in migrating no SAPERP systems to SAP S4 or ECC, including planning, execution, and post-migration support.
  • Proficient in analyzing and resolving interface-related issues, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in EDI and ERP system integration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to document processes, interface specifications, and provide training to end-users and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to adapt to evolving technology landscapes and stay updated on SAP and ERP trends and developments.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Any relevant certifications in SAP or EDI would be an advantage.
