We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about leading school teams in the pursuit of Unconditional Education for all students. As a School Culture & Climate Specialist at Ararat Charter School you will have the opportunity to implement the Unconditional Education Model which empowers the entire school community with the skills and resources required to implement a multi-tiered system of academic, behavioral, and social emotional supports, devoting time and resources toward creating a culture and climate that is engaging and responsive to the needs of all students, their families and school communities. $2000 sign on bonus included!

As a School Culture and Climate Specialist , you'll lead a diverse team in assessing and addressing the culture and climate needs of the school, devising an annual implementation plan that supports intentional improvement efforts toward creating a community that is safe, welcoming, and engaging for all. You'll undergo specialized training to lead a team and implement School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS), an evidenced based practice promoting positive school systems and fostering students' social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health. Your role extends to facilitating ongoing evaluation and improvement initiatives while overseeing the Coordination of Services Team to ensure timely and equitable intervention for students in need. Additionally, you'll provide professional development/ training to school staff and/ or caregivers, supporting the development of trauma-informed and healing-centered practices, ensuring the establishment of inclusive communities where all students are welcomed and can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a culture and climate team that administers a variety of measures to assess the school’s overall culture and tiered intervention practice, using input from the community to create an annual implementation plan. Areas of focus may include:
    • Staff communication, relational trust, and wellness
    • Student voice
    • Family engagement
    • Developing trauma-informed and healing centered practices and policies
  • Lead the implementation of School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) and Trauma-Informed Practices including:
    • Facilitating the development of clear expectations and consistent responses to behavior
    • Creating and identifying systems for tracking and analyzing (discipline) data
    • Leading data-driven discussions informing school-wide and individual student interventions
    • Establishing practices for ensuring school-family partnership
  • Develop and/or facilitate a Coordination of Services Team (or equivalent) that supports a data-driven process to:
    • Coordinate implementation of research-based interventions aligned with a multi-tiered intervention framework
    • Ensure students in need of additional support are identified as proactively as possible
    • Assess efficacy of intervention and progress
    • Ensure equity among students receiving intervention
    • Regularly review school-wide data to inform decisions around intervention services
  • Coordinate implementation of research-based interventions aligned with a multi-tiered intervention framework
  • Facilitate evaluation and program improvement assessment activities onsite
  • Serve as on-site manager for Seneca team members if applicable
  • Engage in Seneca's crisis response model, Equilibrium, or other Seneca approved crisis response model, if trained, to employ crisis communication and de-escalation techniques, ensuring the safety and well-being of others
    • This may include intervening with the students' using physical management, if applicable.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior at all times in accordance with Seneca's mission and philosophy
  • All other duties as assigned by program, region, and agency leadership

Qualifications

  • Education/experience requirements:
    • Master’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work, a related field, OR equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated record of effectively leading other adults in creating change
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption
  • Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting spots

Schedule

  • School-based schedule:
    • Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4 PM (ability to work occasional flexible schedule when the school needs vary)
    • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days

    • Starting at $77,868 -$91,868 per year
    • As of July 7th , this starting range will increase to $85,296 -$99,296 per year
