Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting Lead

Global, US-based manufacturer with revenues of $150M+ has a new opportunity for a Senior Accountant and leader. Their customers are in high demand, high growth industries. They are a specialized manufacturing and R&D company with well-established customers, providing products and services to major global companies.

Industries they work with include Automotive, Renewable Energy, Electronics and Technology. Their growth is driven by the precision, quality, performance of their specialized products and their employees.

Position reports to the CFO, and will lead the preparation of internal financial reporting ; ME close and GL. The Senior Accountant role is a high-profile strategic business partner, contributing to the growth working closely with Executives, and an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Accounting/Finance function and the business.

Responsibilities Of The Senior Accountant

• Function as the lead for internal financial reporting and accounting policy for the business and groups
• Heavy focus on preparing internal financial reports monthly, ME close and GL maintenance
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting and assist with MD&A, consolidations of foreign subsidiaries
• Adjust for differences between IFRS of foreign subsidiaries to US GAAP
• Function as the SME for technical accounting matters, providing guidance
• Review, analyze and provide insight for complex finance transactions
• Operational analysis of gross margin by customers, products, and locations, working capital, production variances forecasting results in statements including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow
• Research and provide guidance on improvements to financial and operational processes, analytics reporting, and systems
• Provide guidance to optimize reporting system and automate ensuring integrity of data
• Support external audit requests
• Ensure that internal controls are properly in place

Ideal Experience For The Senior Accountant

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
• 3-5+ years of related Accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting, GAAP, IFRS and foreign subsidiaries
• Manufacturing industry experience
• Success and drive working as a true business partner to contribute to the overall company goals
• Ability to collaborate with groups cross-functionally
• Strong interest/skilled in process/business improvements
• Strong systems knowledge
