Summary Statement: Under the general supervision of the Cutting Department Supervisor, the employee in this position rewinds and slits fabric to customer specifications as well as supplies products to department employees following all established work and safety procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Rewind and slit incoming material per requirement of order progress sheets.
Produce and affix identification labels to finished rolls and boxes.
Perform preventive and minor maintenance to equipment.
Stage slit goods and recut rolls for shipment.
Pull products from inventory storage area according to documentation provided, delivering products to appropriate work areas using a forklift.
Keep product shelves organized.
Take inventory as needed to assure accuracy of product counts.
Perform and record daily forklift inspections, notifying supervisor of any problems or concerns.
Marginal Job Functions
Assist in unloading China containers.
Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
Participate in training and meetings as requested.
Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications
Working Conditions
Steel toed shoes are required.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop over a 10 hour period.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
Must be able to lift (with assistance) up to 150 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to work both planned and unplanned overtime.
Must have basic working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Must be able to work professionally as part of a team with other department employees.
Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures.
Must perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workloads.
Must be able to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Education And Work Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
