We are currently looking for a Social Media Manager to join us based remotely out of the state of Tennessee, New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. This full-time role will report into the Global Lead Social Media Manager, and may possibly include shifts on weekends and evenings, aligning with NFL fixtures and the season calendar.


What you’ll do as a Social Media Manager

We're in search of a creative and strategic social media manager who can develop and execute social media campaigns to drive engagement, user growth and retention. With an in-depth knowledge of NFL and other sports, alongside a familiarity and passion for betting, the Social Media Manager will be the central driver of all social activity in the US.


You will manage 1 direct report within a team of 5 within Social Media globally (with the scope for that to grow), as part of the wider central marketing function at FairPlay Sports Media (predominantly on the flagship brand oddschecker).


A knowledge of channels outside of Social is desirable in order to bring in elements of PR, Paid and traditional media into our execution for fully rounded campaigns. The ability to be inventive and creative in reacting to emerging news, whilst still holding to the strategic approach is a must.

Strong communication skills, a flexible working approach, a positive demeanor, and, above all, a sense of pride in your work with meticulous attention to detail are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Find and strategize social media growth opportunities, including engagement, acquisition and retention
  • Mange one FTE to oversee the day-to-day operations of our social media channels across X, formerly Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as our in-house comment sections/chat boards
  • Along with eh Social Media Coordinator, create and edit written and video content for use on owned social channels such as Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube
  • Alongside the Paid team, own strategies for increased reach and acquisition within paid social channels
  • Leverage your passion for sports and betting to contribute innovative ideas for our content and social channels
  • Act as a defense of the Oddschecker brand, upholding our brand message, tone of voice, and visual identity for our audience
  • Manage and foster engagement within our social and handicapper community, driving conversations and encouraging dialogue
  • Bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table to attract new audiences and enhance our channel growth
  • Utilize data analysis to continuously improve our social media output, and assist in weekly reporting to the team
  • Collaborate closely editorial for day-to-day operations and large-scale campaign planning
  • Continuously improve campaigns to increase efficiency and performance
  • Work cross-functionally with product development team to increase user adoption


Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of social media culture and platforms, including video-first platforms
  • 3+ years of experience in a social media/content/growth marketing role
  • Outside of social media, a broad understanding and/or experience in in marketing, digital strategies, and/or user experience
  • Strong strategic and execution skills
  • Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in an agile environment amongst multiple different projects
  • Strong passion for sports and a self-starter
  • Ability to build and manage social communities for diverse sports audiences
  • Experience in content creation and utilizing social media to promote content across different sports
  • Creative and proactive with a strong willingness to learn
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to think critically
  • Capability to work independently and manage workloads and schedules


Nice to haves:

  • Understanding and/or experience of iGaming/betting industry
