Position Summary

Nomi Network is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sr. Database & Research Associate to join our Development team. In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting our

fundraising efforts by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our donor data, conducting in- depth research, and contributing to the success of our fundraising initiatives.

Location: Remote

Position status: Exempt

Reports to: Director of Development

Schedule: Full Time

Travel: This position will be required to travel 3-4 times per year

Salary: $61,000 - $66,000

Responsibilities

Database Management:

  • Oversee and maintain the development-related data within Nomi’s Salesforce database.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor records, including data entry, updates, and regular audits.
  • Responsible for entering and documenting all gifts.
  • Develop and implement data management protocols and best practices to optimize database efficiency.
  • Create reports and queries from the Salesforce database.
  • Meet specific data requests from internal and external stakeholders to assist fundraising efforts.
  • Design, generate, and update reports and dashboards to support frontline fundraising team.
  • Work closely with team members and other departments to support their data needs and projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Update documentation as changes occur.
  • Train co-workers on database use and best practices.
  • Guide colleagues in understanding data for appropriate donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Produce acknowledgment letters and work with the development team to uphold an efficient and donor-centric stewardship plan.
  • Work with Director of Development to create and maintain a stewardship program that includes acknowledgement, recognition, and continued involvement, as appropriate, of the donor within the particular program or project to which the donor has been a major contributor.
  • Responsible for working with the finance team to ensure all donation records and incoming funds are coded correctly and documented both on the development and finance side.
  • Working closely with finance to reconcile donation records and support finance with providing documentation for audits as needed.
  • Work with the Director of Development and Sr. Director of Transformative Gifts in coordinating the handling of all planned giving and endowment prospects through a systematic process of identification, qualification, strategy development, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment and stewardship.
  • Strategy includes establishing a solicitation range for each prospect, establishing appropriate timing for solicitation of the prospect in coordination with leadership and identifying the cultivator/solicitor for individual prospects.
  • Cultivation will include but not be limited to, monitoring the prospective donor’s participation in cultivation events to ensure that the event is appropriate for the prospect, and monitoring communications with the prospect to ensure a consistent and suitable flow of information.
  • Work with the development team and accounting to process all donations (pledges, gifts, payments) to Nomi’s database.

Donor Research

  • Conduct thorough research on current and potential donors to identify giving capacity, philanthropic interests, and engagement strategies.
  • Utilize various research tools and resources to gather comprehensive donor profiles and update the database accordingly.
  • Track donor trends and industry insights to inform and support fundraising strategies.

Fundraising Projections

  • Assist with developing fundraising projections and forecasts based on historical data, current trends, and identified opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to the Director of Development and other stakeholders.
  • Funder Identification:
  • Identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities, including individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Support the frontline fundraising team in developing and maintaining a pipeline of potential funders, with detailed profiles and engagement strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Data Science, or a related field.
  • May also have equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative insights across diverse programs and initiatives into actionable insights for fundraising teams and executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in Classy or other donor processing platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data reporting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience with event planning and data integration is a plus.
  • Experience using event platforms to support event management and check-in process.
  • Experience using WealthX, iWave, or similar donor research platforms

Physical Requirements

  • The position functions in a remote environment that requires the ability to successfully interface with laptop computers.
  • The ability to navigate airports and travel periodically
  • Talking (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word) and hearing
  • (perceiving the nature of sounds) are required
  • Clarity of vision (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print) is required
