Primary Responsibilities

  • Size and prepare specifications for mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Design materials handling systems, including conveyor systems, crushing and screening systems, dust collection, control systems, chutes, ducts, piping systems, and equipment layouts for heavy industrial environments.
  • Participate in the preparation of capital cost estimates by calculating capacities, weights, and developing quantity take-offs.
  • Develop conceptual through final designs and prepare calculations to verify the workability of mechanical details.
  • Use CAD and 3D modeling software (Revit or similar) to produce accurate construction drawings.
  • Prepare project flow sheets and conduct feasibility studies, generating comprehensive reports.
  • Coordinate with vendors and multidisciplinary team members to ensure project alignment and integration.
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with other disciplines and demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage time and resources efficiently.
  • Travel as required for project needs.

Preferred Experience And Skills

  • Familiarity with Autodesk's Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Inventor.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with software such as Belt Analyst, Bulk Flow Analyst, AggFlow, PipeFlow, and Caesar II.
  • Background in mining or minerals processing is preferred.
  • Strong experience in materials handling and project leadership.
  • Self-starter personality with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Background experience in minerals, cement, and/or lime industries.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
