We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join Omnicom Media Group Shared Services Accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining the books of an assigned agency within the Omnicom Media Group, which ranges from recording month-end journal entries to completion of a financial reporting package. This role performs reconciliations for a variety of balance sheet accounts as well as owns the resolution of reconciling items by partnering with various other departments within the organization. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and strong communication skills complemented by expert level knowledge of Excel and other applicable accounting tools. In addition, the candidate will have in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and experience working with external auditors. The candidate should be an enthusiastic thinker who enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the set of books for the assigned agencies within OMG US.
  • Actively maintain and review designated General Ledger accounts and activity and own the month-end close processes.
  • Prepare month-end Financial Reporting Package (FRP) and related sub-schedules.
  • Own the balance sheet for the assigned companies from preparation of account reconciliations to investigation of reconciling items as needed.
  • Monitor and reconcile the activity in the in-house bank account(s).
  • Develop robust action plans to address various reconciling items and engage internal business partners in resolution as needed.
  • Support filing of the annual Corporate Tax Return by preparing the annual tax package for your assigned agency.
  • Own various state and local tax filings and serve as a point of contact for inquiries.
  • Partake in ad hoc team projects and analysis, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or above is required.
    • CPA track is a plus
  • Experience with account reconciliation, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Tech savvy and MS Excel expert user; must be comfortable working with and analyzing large datasets.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX would be a plus, but not required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant Accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels
  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet challenging deadline
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Compensation Range

$50,000—$85,000 USD
