Summary Of Position

Internship: Unpaid 16-20 hours per week

Working under the supervision of the HR assistant, the intern will greet visitors and answers

telephones providing information and/or directing callers/visitors to the appropriate place/person.

Also, will provide support to the Human Resources Department. Duties include, but are not limited

to, typing, data entry of information, maintaining personnel files and records and assisting with

employee and/or potential employee questions. Must have the ability to direct sensitive issues as

appropriate; maintain confidentiality to ensure the integrity of the department, exhibit organization

skills, and a positive customer service attitude.

Internship Responsibilities

 Performs a variety of tasks in support of the new hire process. Duties include assisting with

new hire paperwork/onboarding forms, taking photo of employee, preparing name badge,

data entering employee information into the computer, and notifying hiring supervisor of

individual’s eligibility to begin work.

 Performs criminal background check on individuals who require one (e.g. new hires,

volunteers, etc).

 Maintains new employee personnel files assuring inclusion of necessary of paperwork.

 Answer general questions on benefits, recruitment, and other human resources issues.

 Responds to and requests verifications of employment.

 Attends staff meetings and in-service programs as required.

 Performs job duties in accordance with the mission and values of Holland Home.

 Understands resident/client/patient rights and incorporates them into daily practices.
