The Supply Chain Demand Planner functions as the subject matter expert on demand planning. This individual is fully responsible for the creation of accurate forecasts by evaluating market intelligence, researching trends, and using input from our internal departments.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of a forecasting model by leveraging past inventory and sales data across wholesale and retail
Build new product launch or extension forecasts to support company growth and submit accurate demand projections to supply chain
Create monthly purchase plans for each vendor in alignment with department demands and forecasts
Conduct inventory analysis to improve supply chain operations, with the goal to optimize service, cost, and efficiency
Attend monthly company meetings to share reports including opportunities, risks, gaps, and the 12-24-month forward forecast
Conduct all necessary analysis to determine solutions to forecast misses, identifying root causes and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
Work alongside both operations and supply chain teams to ensure optimal production scheduling for maximum efficiency
Requirements:
2-3 years of experience in forecasting/demand planning
Experience with seasonal products a must
Experience within the food industry a huge plus!
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent experience preferred but not required
Advanced knowledge of Excel – including lookups and pivot tables
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Analytical mindset and logical approach to problem-solving
Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
