CAT Labs is a technology startup specializing in building digital asset recovery and cyber defense tools for the government and private sector to fight crypto crime. The CAT Labs team is the “Special Forces” protectors of the crypto industry with unparalleled blockchain security experts, cryptographers, former U.S. Department of Defense computer scientists, and U.S. Department of Justice and Homeland Security investigators, who spent the past decade taking down some of the most prolific crypto criminals.

CAT Labs is developing cutting-edge encryption technology for crypto key management to prevent digital asset theft. It is also developing digital asset recovery tools for law enforcement and intelligence to address the pervasive and rapidly growing illicit use of cryptocurrency by transnational criminal organizations, terrorists, drug cartels, and malicious nation-states, which poses a significant threat to our nation’s safety and security.

We seek a talented and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of CAT Labs' flagship software tool, Recovery CAT. Recovery CAT automates and scales the process of discovery and recovery of digital assets from digital data collected in the context of criminal investigations, intelligence collection, and civil case litigation where asset recovery is at stake, such as bankruptcy, restructuring, estate disputes, and divorce law.

As TPM, you will take ownership of our product roadmap, working closely with our Engineering leadership to ensure that each product release has been adequately tested and is in-line with the provided feature list. You will collaborate with technology and company leadership to refine project requirements and set achievable milestones for the engineering team. You will also work closely with our Sales Team to communicate the upcoming lists of features based on client feedback and prioritize them based on client demand and relevance. You will be responsible for reviewing any forms of technical literature or documentation that the team produces internally or externally to foster alignment between the Engineering Team, Digital Forensics, Sales and Leadership. This will include proof reading technical documentation and organizing our internal Wiki in an effort to reduce duplicate pages and streamline communication efforts between Engineering and other departments. You will take joint responsibility over formulating our technical vision in conjunction with leadership to propel CAT Labs to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and refine a 1 year product roadmap alongside the leadership team
  • Suggest and research new features with guidance from the leadership team and in tandem with the design team
  • Work closely with our DevOps team to ensure our release checklists have been completed prior to release
  • Understand the current market need and prioritize features based on client feedback
  • Facilitate agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement and gauging team velocity
  • Coalesce our internal documentation by deleting duplicate pages and coming up with structure within which new pages can be formed, as well as proof reading existing documentation to ensure it is easy for new clients to interact with
  • Quickly ramp up on the specifics of Crypto, Asset Recovery and Digital Forensics within your first month
  • Work closely with our UI/UX team to ensure that backend product features are exposed to the frontend
  • Maintain external facing documentation such as user guides, our support matrix and training materials which may require updates based on feature additions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree within a STEM field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in technical program management in a dynamic and highly technical environment, a strong track record in managing complex cross-functional projects in a cloud/SaaS environment
  • Solid technical background with educational experience in computer science, an engineering discipline, mathematics, information systems, or equivalent work experience, and you enjoy learning new technologies
  • Experience working collaboratively across organizations; strong leadership and interpersonal skills, experience building and fostering effective working relationships
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and enjoying working in an innovative environment
  • Data-driven approach to program management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-in
  • Experience influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the engineering organization
  • Proficiency in using Atlassian tools (e.g. JIRA) for project management and issue tracking
  • Experience in running Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, for engineering teams (conducting standups, retrospectives, sprint planning, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience working with cryptocurrency technologies, blockchain frameworks, or decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms
  • Understanding of cryptographic principles and their application in secure and decentralized systems
  • Experience working with or for government agencies, particularly in roles involving software development, deployment, or security
  • Knowledge of digital forensics methodologies and tools
