Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Lead the growth and profitability of assigned terminal(s). Oversee all activities tied to ensure assigned terminal(s) operate efficiently and effectively for all lines of business and the customers tied to same assigned terminals. Develop future leaders.

  • Oversee all terminal operations and ensure appropriately staffed, operating within budget constraints and meets organizational requirements and customer expectations.
  • Ensure assigned employees have career development plans that provide the organization with strong bench strength for future leaders.
  • Actively develop future leaders by teaching organization's core values.
  • Maximize operational efficiency by hiring qualified associates and providing training as needed.
  • Lead and motivate direct reports by ensuring every team member understands their role and their personal impact to the organization.
  • Conduct frequent coaching of direct reports and provide initiatives to assist in professional development opportunities.
  • Evaluate Driver satisfaction, retention and turnover; provide necessary tools to effectively perform position responsibilities to assist in increasing Driver retention and reducing overall turnover.
  • Utilize organizational reports in order to identify opportunities for improvement in all areas such as fleet productivity, equipment utilization etc.
  • Collaborate with Shop department personnel to ensure the organization's needs are met regarding equipment availability.
  • Implement necessary changes to improve/increase productivity and driver retention.
  • Work closely with sales to gain an understanding of market needs and assist in new business development in key markets.
  • Provide executive management with recommendations regarding improvements within overall organization.
  • Maintain cost control in order to maximize the organization's bottom-line profitability.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • 5+ years' experience in operations and/or sales in transportation industry required.
  • 1+ year people leadership experience required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • 4+ years entrepreneurial experience or similar required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Must be able to lead, develop and coach others.
  • Must be able to effectively transfer knowledge to others.
  • Must be able to understand financial reports.
  • Must be able to effectively utilize accessible data for effective decision making and problem resolution.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range: $71,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annual
