Territory Marketing Manager

Tower Hill Insurance Group is seeking two qualified individuals for the position of Territory Marketing Manager in their commercial lines division. This position will be responsible for assisting the company’s profitable growth through marketing and underwriting activities in our Southeast and Southwest Florida regions. Job responsibilities will include assisting our product team with market research and product development, identifying and recruiting qualified agents to represent the company, and managing the performance of their assigned territory. The position will be assigned underwriting authority and will be expected to solicit and underwrite new business accounts while maintaining a consistent focus on marketing responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop relationships with agents through regular in-person visits, phone, and digital communication. A significant amount of time will be spent traveling to visit agents and participating in industry and company functions.
  • Gain expert knowledge on the company’s products, underwriting appetite and services and be able to effectively communicate these to agents. This includes providing training in company systems and processes.
  • Work with commercial lines management and commercial lines underwriting to define agent and territory goals and effectively communicate these goals to assigned agents, providing ongoing support and guidance as needed. Continuously monitor progress and provide feedback to drive success.
  • The position will be assigned an Underwriting Letter of Authority and will use the authority to qualify risks while in the field, assist Commercial lines Underwriters with gathering underwriting information on risks, and periodically conduct field underwriting of individual risks as needed.
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts and work with underwriting to ensure successful closure (binding of the risk).
  • Responsible for managing agent representation for assigned territory including recommending rehabilitation plans for underperforming agents, agent terminations, and identifying and appointing potential new agents.
  • Attendance and involvement in marketing meetings at Tower Hill headquarters or other designated areas (as required).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Highly motivated, self-driven, with an ability to work successfully without daily supervision.
  • Reside within the assigned marketing territory.
  • Have familiarity with the geography & demographics of the assigned territory relative to the industry. Ability to use this information to identify business opportunities and challenges.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor data and communicate these to commercial lines management and underwriting.
  • Ability to analyze multivariate performance information (loss ratio, etc.) to make recommendations for strategic decisions and then present this information to a wide range of groups including those at an executive level.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, tact, and negotiation with additional need for interpersonal skills and an ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to travel regularly with occasional overnight travel.
  • Physically able to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, including High School Diploma or GED, and two years of relevant experience, may substitute for minimum educational requirements.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ related experience in Insurance Marketing/Territory Management or Production Underwriting required.


CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Chartered Property Casual Underwriter (CPCU) or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) training preferred.


LICENSURE:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required with an appropriate driving record required to operate a company provided vehicle.
