Imagine Staffing is recruiting for a Trader Assistant on behalf of our client, a North American leader in raw materials production. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package including Competitive salary, health and dental coverage, 401k with match, short term and long-term disability coverage, paid vacation, paid holidays, year-end bonus and more! Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with some afterhours communication. Some travel is required for this role (several conferences or client visits per year, domestic and/or international).

As a member of their inside sales team, you will be responsible for assisting the Trader in all aspects of managing their book and businesses and be able to assist in running their business in their absence.


Role & Responsibility:

Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success


  • Collect and prepare RFQs
  • Assemble costs from origin to delivery to customer for P/L analysis.
  • Know costs as related to the business.
  • Sales Offers
  • Make, enter, and book offers. Send follow up.
  • Tracking shipments.
  • Position management.
  • Sales Contracts
  • Entering the contract into the system, getting approvals, and sending to the customer.
  • Setting up the delivery schedule in the system.
  • Communicate the booked contract and business to the customer service department.
  • Collect purchase orders and other supporting documents for the sales file.
  • Understand and manage risks associated with the sale.
  • Supply Management
  • Problem solve forecast vs delivery variances.
  • Communicate, provide guidance to customer service and logistics as needed for the sales.
  • Manage all aspects of a small business A-Z; spot, back-to-back.
  • Follow up with customers to check in on their forward requirements.
  • Oversight of customer service activities related to the products they are responsible for.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Assist in presentation preparations: budgets, forecasts, reports.
  • Work with logistics to develop new routes to customers.
  • Know how to calculate margins and returns on capital.
  • Know what is going on with global geopolitical and economic events.
  • Be familiar with what is going on in the industry
  • Read publications- Platts, Fastmarkets, CRU, and other trade journals.


Authorities:

Negotiate sales contracts within guidelines established by the Traders.

  • Bachelor’s degree- Business, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Strong computer skills – Outlooks, Excel and Teams are a must.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Must take ownership of responsibilities and tasks.
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive and inquisitive.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to collaborate with teams across all levels of the organization
