Stone Watson is in search of a dynamic and fast Video Editor/ Motion Graphics Artist to join our team's ranks. As a marketing agency focused on video for major product launches, we serve a wide array of industries throughout the USA. You will assume a pivotal role, actively involved in crafting captivating and impactful multimedia content for our assorted clientele. 



Responsibilities:


  • Edit videos, including rough drafts and fine cuts, ensuring high-quality output while using our organization structures. 
  • Version out motion graphics animations and create 2D animations/interstitials for various industry sectors, such as gaming, education and healthcare.
  • Collaborate with the team and founder to push creative boundaries and continually improve skills via continued education. 
  • Attend creative meetings in person and via zoom + contribute to the development of innovative multimedia concepts.
  • Complete tutorials during off-peak to ensure quality standards are met and exceeded. 
  • Help new incoming employees with editing standards and push each other to create better content for our clients. 
  • Manage projects and post-workflows to ensure smooth and timely delivery, including possible client facing interactions. 
  • QA projects based on our quality standards document and policies. 
  • Occasional on set work, wrangling data or on-site editing.



  • Job Requirements:
  • Willingness to work at the location that best suits our project requirements
  • 20% Travel is required to assist with on-site shoots.
  • Enthusiasm to hit major project deadlines, including occasional work outside business hours (especially for our west coast clients). 
  • In-Office in Barrington, IL. (5 minute walk from Metra station)



Technical Skills and Software Proficiency:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of editing principles and apply them effectively.
  • Synology NAS Workflow 
  • Possess strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas and concepts.
  • Have a deep knowledge of Adobe Suite, with a particular emphasis on Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
  • Davinci Resolve color grading and color correction proficiency as well as premiere to DaVinci XML/ EDL workflows.  
  • Excellent audio editing skills, including knowledge of LUFs, Loudness, proper DBs range for both online and broadcast delivery standards. 
  • Be proficient in rendering, frame rate conversions, bitrates, and troubleshooting various aspect ratios.
  • Understand how to convert video formats for social media, including 9x16 and 1x1 ratios.



Organization and Efficiency:

  • Showcase strong organizational skills and demonstrate processes for keeping up with deadlines and deliverables. 
  • Manage clip organization, downloading, uploading, and overall project file management. 
  • Aid in collecting and archiving projects to maintain an efficient workflow, adjusting workflow and file management to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Have sound design capabilities and have basic knowledge of color correction techniques.
  • Assist the founder with video-related tasks, including pulling clips, creative and providing support during shoots.
