Position Summary: 

As a Volunteer Fundraiser Specialist, you will play a vital role in our Development & Marketing team's success. The volunteer in this position will report to and collaborate with the Development and Marketing Manager. This role requires a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week.

Centurions Michigan is looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will leverage their excellent communication skills and proactive nature to identify fundraising opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential donors, and oversee fundraising campaigns. Responsibilities include coordinating events, drafting proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, allowing the individual to enhance their speaking, writing, and leadership skills while advancing Centurions' financial objectives.

We seek a motivated, professional, and organized individual with strong research abilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Centurions' mission and possess a strong drive to advance our current fundraising initiatives while devising and implementing new strategies.

Essential Job Function: 

• Raise awareness of the organization’s mission and activities.
• Build and nurture a network of committed donors and volunteers.
• Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities.
• Develop and implement fundraising plans to achieve financial objectives.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
• Keep major donors engaged and informed.
• Research potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Communicate the organization’s mission, vision, and programs effectively to potential donors.
• Draft grant applications and fundraising proposals.
• Plan and execute successful fundraising campaigns.
• Organize fundraising events and oversee volunteer teams.
• Manage budgets and monitor progress towards financial goals.

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members and volunteers
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong passion for research
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and tasks while organizing large events
• Proficiency with donor management systems
• Confident public speaker
• Experience in legal or accounting is advantageous
