- Modularity or microlearning is an essential element to deliver individualized instruction. It's not just nice to do, it's critical. Because we want to make adjustments based on how well our learners are progressing, we need to be able to both modify the sequence of experiences and adjust the elements in those experiences themselves, and do that in real time. These are two different, important and really powerful ways to individualize. So let's look at them much more closely. If a learner has handled a challenge in a micro lesson effectively, did great but doesn't report feeling confident about doing it again, we might offer several sequencing or level adjustment alternatives by asking the question, which of the following do you feel might bolster your confidence?
