It was so energising to bring our global teams together physically and virtually for our first company Town Hall of the year this week. New starters sat next to old timers is amazing to help build team culture. That's Charlie Sharpe in grey, in his 10th year at Battenhall after starting work at the agency at the tender age of 17, sat next to one of our newest team members Isabella B. who has just won her first client in her second week here. How often do you look back over the last week? 💭 In life, most of us reflect on and review our achievements and lessons every month, quarter or year. But what about the last five days? At McCann Synergy, we like to take any opportunity to do this whenever we can. Whether it’s via our Thirsty Thursdays or our Fish Tank Fridays, these moments are integral to developing a positive culture where reward and recognition (R&R) is front and centre. In our latest Fish Tank Friday meeting, we were pleasantly surprised by how many things we’ve achieved in such a short space of time. Our recent Internal Communications and Engagement Award is a perfect example. While we all have goals to achieve and projects to complete, it’s important to remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. The award in the picture was achieved through hard work, creativity and teamwork over a longer period. But you only get to the end goal by taking the right steps along the way. … and that is week 1 just about complete at H&MV and I can definitely say that joining has been a great decision. Just some points that have helped to reinforce this include; (aside from the great benefits and initiatives on offer) (1) 👷♀️ Endless examples of employees who have taken internal opportunities and progressed at a fantastic rate through the organization – this is not just a corporate claim, this is absolutely real in the case of H&MV. (2) 👷♂️ The culture is visibly very positive with a realization that the company is at a great time in its journey (our Glassdoor score of 4.3 helps reflect this also) – people are all super complimentary of the environment and really make the effort for you to feel welcome. (3) 👷♀️There is a focus on balance plus also having fun, with many different types of events happening regularly from the Sports and Social groups. (4) 👷♂️ A feeling that we are lucky to be part of a truly special homegrown company that at its core has a driving ambition to foster and support sustainable initiatives. I could list all of the perks and benefits too however outside of these the above are just some of the other areas that I have seen this week that also differentiate H&MV!
