I was recently informed that my role at AWS in Physical Stores - Just Walk Out had been eliminated in the latest round of layoffs. After 5 years, 5 months, and 4 days. The US/UK/DE setup, 4 different roles, and (a guess) about 25 new store launches and at least 30 renovations it is time for me to hang up my yellow badge with Amazon and look for new adventures and challenges. I want to thank those who has an impact on me during my time with Amazon. Abe Lapson - thank you for taking me on and pushing me to help grow the Warehousing, OMS, and UK team. Sharon Lonsdale - thank you for continuing that growth and allowing me to focus on our International Operations. Jessica Stickney - thank you for showing me the ropes and pushing me in the short time I was assisting in the Procurement world. Lori Wofford - thank you for always being that partner to push me and guide me to be better and constantly improve. To all of my peers affected and unaffected alike, I want to say, thanks for the amazing memories, travels, long nights, and weekends. I'm proud of what we accomplished together and the kind of product we put out to the customer. We helped set the standard for frictionless shopping that the rest of the market aspires to meet. Special shout out to Jen Gormley, Chris Evans, Craig Galloway, Gelan Damsea, Daniel Hunt, Nick Kornacki, Robbie Ferreira, Kevin Kuehler, Gautam Chandrasekaran and many more that I am missing. Yet another way to keep customers in and out to avoid lines and delays seeing their show/game quickly and buying the merchandise to go with it. Working through the first iterations of this technology was so much fun, I am so proud to roll this tech out to the public!
