I’ve often said, “People say that talk is cheap; but the truth is this: people cheapen talk.” For many reasons, we live in a time where it’s all too easy to say what matters to us, what quality of life and our relationships mean to us, and then not act on it. [I’m not making any other point than it’s easy, it’s often, it’s… human. Oh so very human.] But every once in a while you run into someone who’s UNWILLING to take the road that most travel (there’s just no satisfaction in it for them) someone who’s determined to find a way to live true to their values, true to what’s possible, true to action. They are rare and extraordinary. Carrie Charles IS one who’s extraordinary like that. ✨✨ She’s a partner and friend— one who knows that real Leadership requires one to see more than one may want to— and not ignore it. She’s courageous and truly inspiring— and walking the talk. "Love is the only emotion that makes us smarter as humans so if we have more love in organizations, where are the places we are noticing people getting smarter together and what's the impact of that?" #people #love

On finding talent in new and not so hidden places… #definingexceptional #talentacquisition #telecom #staycurious
It's probably safe to say every organization wants to hire the best, but how we define "best" may be a little outdated in today's workforce. Great leaders pay attention to the qualities they want to see in an employee, and getting curious about who a person is and what unique experiences and perspectives they bring goes much farther than bullet points on a resume. In Jim Schleckser's article for Inc. he shares one CEO's approach to identifying the traits that can lead to exceptional employee engagement. #connectedleadership #talentdevelopment

You don’t need to wait for confidence. You don’t need to wait until you have the same level of experience or status in this market. You don’t need to wait until you’re bigger, Until you’re cooler, Until you know that other people aren’t busy, Until you think you’re ready. Until that someday when people won’t think you’re bothering them. We’ve all been waiting. What could you ask for today? An opportunity… A word of encouragement? Better performance from those around you? I am too inspired by those who ask (just about anything) of me to not work them in. I’m emboldened by an opportunity to serve. Aren’t you? #leadership #mindset

I signed this because I believe the future calls for greater design, awareness and alignment. Thanks to @SamHarris and Lex Fridman for leading me to the best minds on AI and broadening my understanding. #future #design #ai #responsibletech If you’re interested: A few other points from the letter: - AI research and development should be refocused on making today's powerful, state-of-the-art systems more accurate, safe, interpretable, transparent, robust, aligned, trustworthy, and loyal. - In parallel, AI developers must work with policymakers to dramatically accelerate development of robust AI governance systems.

There’s been so much going on today I didn’t even realize— it’s Equal Pay Day for one demographic of women. For others, it’s much later in the year. Thank you Aliza Freud for keeping me true. I’ve had much success in equipping women for the ask… the negotiations… the performance review. If you want some resources, or some support please dm. #equalpay #payequity #womenshistorymonth
Our recent Voices of Women: Workplace + Society study revealed what we are calling the Reality Gap. The Reality Gap is the difference between perception and reality for women’s equality - while women perceive more equality at Home, in the Workplace and in Politics than 10 years ago, it’s not always true in their day-to-day experiences: ➡️ 87% agree that women are not compensated fairly ➡️ 68% say in politics their voices are considered less than men’s ➡️ 72% say they handle more caregiving responsibilities than men I had the opportunity to share the findings of our latest study with Hena Doba this week. 🙏 Here is a link to our full conversation: https://lnkd.in/e8AJhUax If you want more information about this SheSpeaks Inc. study, please DM me. #equalpay #payequity #womenshistorymonth
